Act I - Exposition

Guillaume DeGarmo is heartbroken over a tragic loss. You would be forgiven for thinking that he is mourning the passing of a close friend or a family member. Sadly, the matter is much more serious.

Guillaume lost a priceless gem, one of the most prized items of his collection. He lost it in a bet he made with George Saint-George, a fellow collector of old-earth trinkets. Guillaume would like his gem back, and needs you to see George Saint-George and trade it for an Old-Earth Plate that George covets. Unfortunately, he can't do the exchange personally: Guillaume can't stand the sight of George, and also George may not be willing to make the trade dealing with Guillaume in person.

"I can assure you with near certainty he won't decline. As much as I hate to say it, Saint-George and I are cut from the same cloth."

"We both adore relics from Earth, no matter how large or monetarily valuable they are. They're a piece of human history, and that means a lot to us both."

"It pains me to part with the plate, but I happen to have a few others in my collection. If it means sacrificing one to get the gem back, I will."

Act II - Peripetie

Check the map, as George Saint-George may be in multiple locations. George is delighted to make the exchange. He does not care much for the gem. He also has the effrontery to call Guillaume a bit overdramatic. So you take the gem and haste back to Guillaume.

Guillaume wants his gem back. He'd like to exchange this plate for it.

"A plate? Oh my, as in a plate from Earth? Absolutely! Without question!"

"Here, take the gem! Ha! That Guillaume. If he wanted his gem back so badly, he could have simply asked."

"The gem is worthless, less than a paperweight. But actually, Earth paperweights are quite valuable..."

	It seems like there's a lot of animosity between you and Guillaume.	Bah, I'm sure Guillaume makes it seem that way. In reality, it couldn't be further from the truth.

Guillaume is overjoyed to have his gem back. You have done a good deed.

Notes
