Sanctum Universum is a religious faction in the Settled Systems.
Sanctum Universum members, called Universals, believe in the existence of God, and that humanity's ability to travel the galaxy is a call from God to come find him.[1] The Church itself was founded by Keeper Aquilus.
Beliefs[edit]
Universals believe in "God" in the sense that they say he is the ultimate mystery and underlying cause of the universe.[2] They hold that God is supposed to be found out in the stars and has always been drawing Humankind out into the stars to find him. Likewise, they have a deep conviction that mankind has an intrinsic desire to know God and unravel the mysteries surrounding him and the Universe.
Beyond this, there is a concept of the afterlife among the Universals and that it entails unity with God.[3]
