Bethesda in this context refers to the publishers of Starfield. Bethesda is actually two entirely different companies:Bethesda Softworks LLC or BethSoft for short, the original company that handles publishing, and Bethesda Game Studios, a subdivision created to handle game development. Bethesda Softworks' is a subsidiary of Zenimax Media Inc. On September 21st, 2020 Microsoft announced a takeover of Zenimax and Bethesda.
